About the role:
We are expanding our biomarker discovery services offering and strategic partnerships, while at the same time building out our capacity to integrate new data types into our discovery platform. We are looking for a polyvalent data scientist to work at the interface between data analysis and pipeline development, eager to grow and learn in a dynamic professional environment, and driven by both scientific curiosity and a desire to ultimately improve patients’ lives by delivering high-quality results.
Key responsibilities:
- Pre-process, analyze and gain actionable insights from single-cell datasets using our in-house developed single-cell AI pipelines.
- Support both Scailyte’s clients and internal biomedical project managers by understanding their analytical needs and sharing your findings.
- Contribute to continuous development and improvement of our pipelines, ensuring a high standard of reproducibility and interpretability of results.
- Contribute to the development of innovative algorithms for integrating single-cell data with other data types, such as imaging, clinical or lifestyle data, and other multi-omics technologies.
- Support business development team in presenting Scailyte’s capabilities to clients and preparing project proposals.
Required qualifications:
- PhD degree or MSc/BSc degree with at least 5 years of experience in a biological or quantitative field (e.g. biology, biomedical sciences, bioinformatics, physics, mathematics)
- Experience in analyzing high throughput biological datasets, preferably working with single-cell data (e.g. NGS, RNA-seq or CyTOF)
- Solid knowledge of at least one programming language (e.g. Python or R)
- Experience working with version control (e.g. git)
- Familiarity with common machine learning techniques – experience with neural networks would be a plus
- Familiarity with the UNIX shell and cloud computing
- The ability to work in an interdisciplinary/cross-functional environment (e.g. matrix organisation)
- Excellent written and spoken English
